S.H.Figuarts checklist
Updated 26 Feb. with Kamen Rider Double CycloneJoker and ZECTrooper review links
Debuting in February 2008, the S.H.Figuarts line showcases Bandai’s latest action figure design. The name is either derived from “Souchaku Henshin Figure Arts” or “Simple style and Heroic action Figure Arts” (the company vacillates between the two on its own site).
Emphasising sculpting and articulation, S.H.Figuarts eschews the gimmicks and edgy design aesthetics of Bandai’s Souchaku Henshin and S.I.C. lines. The 14cm-tall figures in the series generally retail for between 2200yen to 2500yen making them a great choice for fans looking for a pure action figure representation of their favourite heroes.
The following checklist lists the figures released thus far and includes links to Japanese reviews with a generous amount of photos.

Figma checklist
Updated 26 Feb. with Fate Testarossa (the Movie 1st version) review links
Developed by Max Factory and sold by Good Smile Company, the Figma line of action figures emphasises both beautiful sculpting faithful to the source material and mobility. The line is a collaboration between veteran figure modelers Max Watanabe and Asai Masaki.
Max Watanabe (b. 1962) is a professional modeler, modeling instructor and author with 26 years of modeling experience. Max Factory, the company he established in 1987, began selling garage kits before venturing into action figures with the Guyver line.
Asai Masaki (b. 1973), also a veteran modeler, instructor and garage kit maker, made his debut in 1990. He designed the MMS core figure used in Konami’s Busou Shinki line and continues to produce MMS-compatible accessories and outfits under his Plastica label.
